In 2022, we saw the first big breakthrough in 30 years of Alzheimer’s research, and now more than ever, it is important for families and communities to continue to understand what it is like to live with dementia. On Tuesday, December 12th, 10:30am - 3:30pm, Mifflin Court will host a dementia training program called The Dementia Experience. The free event will provide the community with an interactive first-hand look into the life of an individual living with dementia.
The Dementia Experience is a powerful and educational, 30-minute interactive training experience using sensory modifications. Participants will engage in typical daily activities while encountering what it feels like to live with dementia. Specifically, the training helps caretakers, first responders, family, friends, and the community engage in the experience of living with dementia. The free training will include experiencing constrained fingers, occluded hearing and sight, loud white noise, and simulations while navigating daily activities of living.
RSVP Required for assigned 30 minute time slot, while available. RSVP to: Kim Kostival, Director of Marketing and Admissions, at kimberly.kostival@genesishcc.com to participate in the training.
